Hi! I’m Holly Cerny, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.

From young to seasoned, I help adults understand what is happening inside themselves for a more fulfilling existence.

I believe in your capacity to grow because I am lucky enough to see my clients do it every day.

What it’s like to work with me.

Therapy can sometimes feel like having a good conversation with a close and trusted friend who wants to hear all about the problem you are facing.

However, it ideally touches something more profound. For change to truly happen, it must.

We will focus on what you feel right now to give us clues to understand you better, how you cope, and what you need to heal and grow.

You will know I am fully engaged with you at every moment, not only listening to your feelings but feeling with you along the way.

Therapy often works best with weekly or bi-weekly meetings to foster trust and increase results through consistency and dedication to the work.

“When we stop distancing ourselves from the pain in the world, our own or others, we create the possibility of a new experience, one that often surprises because of how much joy, connection, or relief it yields.”

MARK EPSTEIN

My Approach

Like many modern therapists, I use a combination of approaches to suit my client’s unique needs. My background is in psychodynamic psychotherapy, and a treatment called Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). You might not be familiar with this treatment, so let me tell you about it.

While many therapeutic approaches have roots in looking at what is not working or “wrong,” AEDP pulls for your strengths and your natural ability to heal.

● It focuses us in-the-moment during each session. We will look for cues from your body to help you express an emotion that may have been stuck for a while.

 ● Looking at what is going on with you right now allows us to bring out your inner abilities to heal.

● A focus on connection and attachment facilitates the repair of old patterns and ways of relating that may not be working anymore.

A bit more about me.

I can relate to feeling stuck, as well as being unsure exactly how to proceed in a way that felt right for me. My personal experiences in life help me naturally bring a very accepting presence as a therapist.

It’s tremendous to do this work, and I have a passion to continue learning more because it is so fulfilling.

When you’re ready to get started, I’m here to help.
